INDEPENDENT JAPANESE-INSPIRED STREETWEAR FROM CALGARY, CANADA.
MORE THAN THE GRAPHIC
Anatta started in 2021 with graphic apparel, but we never wanted the artwork to do all the work.
Over time, we started paying more attention to the garment itself — heavier fabrics, washed finishes, embroidery, utility details, paneling and fit.
The graphic still matters. It’s just not the whole story anymore.
JAPANESE INFLUENCE
Japanese art, folklore and street culture have always been a big part of Anatta.
We pull from traditional imagery like Hannya masks, samurai armor, kitsune, waves and mythical creatures, then bring those ideas into modern streetwear.
We’re not trying to reproduce traditional Japanese clothing. We take the influence and make it our own.
BUILT WITH WEIGHT
We like clothes that feel substantial.
Heavy cotton, dense fleece, denim, embroidery, washed finishes — the materials matter just as much as the artwork.
Fit, pocket placement, seams and construction details all get the same attention.
If a detail doesn’t make the piece better, it doesn’t need to be there.

Every Anatta piece starts with our own direction.
The artwork, graphics, fit, construction, washes and finishing details are developed around the collection — not pulled together just because something is trending.
We want Anatta to feel recognizable before you even see the name.
